Create a Cohesive Instagram Feed (Quick & Easy Hacks)

instagram tips Jun 23, 2020

Your Instagram feed doesn't have to be perfect. In fact, authentic content is welcomed and resonates well with any audience.

That said, authentic content, curated content, whatever content you've got going on, can still look cohesive and maintain a professional looking feed. Keep reading for my grid hacks.

A cohesive, professional looking feed will help to attract your ideal clients and turn them into followers.

The reason for this is simple: if your feed looks random, it will resemble a personal feed and your ideal clients aren't looking to follow you for personal updates. They're looking to follow you, a business account, for value. A professional, cohesive feed gives them that impression.

You know I like to keep things quick and easy - that's the best way to stay consistent. If you want some grid hacks to maintain a cohesive feed, watch the short video below or keep on reading:

HOW TO CREATE A COHESIVE INSTAGRAM FEED (QUICK AND EASY HACKS):

1. PLAN

Choose a color scheme that conveys the mood and theme of your brand. If you need some ideas, hop on over to Pinterest and type in "branding colors" or "color pallettes" and you'll see tons of ideas. The color scheme you choose will help serve as your guideline for your grid.

2. USE PRESETS TO EDIT YOUR PHOTOS

If you're taking your own photos, you'll want them to have a similar look and feel on your feed, but stop editing your photos one by one. This tip will not only help you create a cohesive feed, but it will also save you tons of time editing!

Here it is: I use Lightroom to edit my photos and once I've edited a photo that will look good on my feed, I'll save those edits as a "preset". In the click of a button, I can apply those same exact edits to another photo, giving it the same look and feel of the last. I can't tell you how much time I've saved editing photos this way.

Another app that does this easily is called VSCO. Similar to presets in Lightroom, you can create "recipes" to apply the same edits to multiple photos with the click of a button. VSCO also has pre-loaded recipes that you can use if you don't want to create your own recipes.

3. USE A SCHEDULING APP TO PREVIEW YOUR FEED

You don't have to post your photo and hope it looks good in your current feed. Use a scheduling app to preview what your feed will look like before you post anything. I use Planoly to easily drag and drop photos and decide on the order I want to post them in. Some photos look better next to others, so this is super helpful.

Easy peasy!
